Bangkok: Rekindled My Love for Adventure and Sparked New Business Ideas…

Some places leave beautiful photographs.

Others leave a different version of you.

For me, Bangkok became one of those places.

It was my second international destination, and at first, I thought it would simply be another country to visit—a place to admire temples, try street food, and collect memories. I never imagined it would quietly become part of my healing and remind me that life still has so much waiting to be discovered.

There’s something about traveling that changes the way you see the world. But more than that, it changes the way you see yourself.

My first visit was short, yet every moment felt meaningful.

I wandered through temples that had stood for centuries, each one carrying stories long before I ever arrived. Standing beneath their towering golden roofs, I found myself slowing down. For once, there was no pressure to rush, no timeline to chase—just quiet moments of wonder.

One evening, I experienced the Asiatique River Cruise.

As the boat glided along the Chao Phraya River, the city lights danced across the water, and Bangkok transformed into something almost magical. It was also during that trip that we celebrated the birthday of someone who had once become family to me. Looking back, that memory now carries a gentle kind of gratitude. Some people become part of our story for only a season, yet they still leave kindness that deserves to be remembered.

Life has a way of bringing us back to places when we’re meant to see them differently.

My second visit to Thailand came because of work. But instead of staying inside whenever I had free time, I chose to explore.

I wanted to make every day count.

So I found myself wandering through Pattaya—not as a tourist chasing attractions, but as someone learning to enjoy her own company.

The moment that will forever stay with me happened inside the Sanctuary of Truth.

No picture online could ever prepare me for what I felt.

The moment I stepped inside, goosebumps covered my entire body.

Every piece of wood had been carved with incredible patience and purpose, each detail telling stories about humanity, faith, wisdom, and life itself. I stood there speechless, realizing that beautiful things are rarely created overnight. They take time, dedication, and countless unseen hours.

In many ways, healing is exactly the same.

After that came Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, where every path, every flower, and every landscape seemed carefully nurtured. It reminded me that growth is often invisible until one day you finally step back and see how far you’ve come.

But perhaps what surprised me the most wasn’t a landmark.

It was a marketplace.

Walking through Pratunam Market, I noticed how many Filipinos were buying clothes and products in bulk. They weren’t simply shopping—they were building businesses.

That simple observation sparked something inside me.

What if traveling could become more than an expense?

What if every trip could also become an opportunity?

The idea of starting a “PasaBUY” business slowly formed as I explored the endless rows of affordable clothing, accessories, and local finds. I realized that inspiration doesn’t always arrive while sitting behind a desk. Sometimes it finds you while wandering unfamiliar streets with curious eyes.

One of my favorite memories wasn’t glamorous at all.

It was exploring alone.

Standing before the Giant Buddha, with no one to talk to except my own thoughts, I realized how much I had changed.

There was a time when I feared doing things alone.

Now, I found peace in it.

I wasn’t lonely.

I was learning.

Learning that I could navigate unfamiliar cities by myself. Learning that silence can be comforting. Learning that independence isn’t about proving something to the world—it’s about discovering what you’re capable of when no one else is holding your hand.

Bangkok became more than a destination.

It became a gentle reminder that life doesn’t always have to follow the plans we once made.

Sometimes the endings we never wanted become the beginnings we never expected.

Sometimes a work trip turns into an adventure.

Sometimes a crowded market plants the seed of a future business.

Sometimes an ancient temple teaches you more about yourself than any book ever could.

And sometimes, while standing alone in a foreign country, you realize that you’ve slowly become the person you once prayed to be.

When I look back at Thailand now, I don’t only remember the places.

I remember the version of myself I met there.

A woman who was slowly healing.

A woman who was beginning to dream again.

A woman who discovered that adventure isn’t just about crossing borders—it’s about allowing life to surprise you, one journey at a time.

“Some journeys change your passport. The best ones change your perspective.”
